In celebration of the World Book Day, a poll was conducted amongst the British people on which book would they likely pass on to the next generation. The poll was topped by the favorite Harry Potter series but the Twilight books placed 5th in the poll. London, Mar 4 – It has emerged that Harry Potter author JK Rowling turned down the chance to present an award at the Oscars. The producers of the Academy Awards wanted to boost the youth appeal at the ceremony on March 7, reports the Daily Star. So they decided to get Rowling, 44, to appear alongside Twilight creator Stephenie Meyer, 36. But Rowling was busy and Meyer, who is a Mormon, does not work on Sundays.
