London (Reuters) - Film admissions in Britain hit 173.5 million in 2009, the highest level since 2002 and up 5.6 percent from 2008, according to a review of last year by the UK Film Council published on Tuesday.
The total Box Office gross hit 944 million pounds, an increase of 11 percent on 2008. Including Ireland, the figure rose to 1.05 billion pounds, the first time it has topped the billion-pound mark.
